In 2017, I built a modified shredder to shredder and recycle EVA footwear for Native Shoes in Vancouver. The idea was based around PP’s shredder design, with an upgraded motor, stand, and other safety accessories like an emergency shut off.
Native Shoes has since started The Remix Project, where they collect old pairs of shoes, shred them and turn them into new materials. This material has been used as seat padding in their flagship store in Gastown (Vancouver), and is now going to be used as playground matting as well.
