I have an hotel supplies business in the Seychelles and would like to know if there is a machine that can turn waste plastic bottles into bin liners. All the plastic containers we import are recyclable but there is no one recycling in Seychelles. Recently the Seychelles government banned plastic shopping bags but still allow the import of plastic bin liners. If there was an inexpensive way of turning all the plastic waste into bin liners it would help the country in two ways. 1) Less plastic going to landfill. 2} Less imports of even more plastic.
@rhino your intentions are good, but for making bin liners you will need specialized and expensive equipment. Bags are made of LDPE or HDPE, and most plastic bottles are made out of PET which won’t work for making bags.
If you found a way to turn the bottles into bags, you would need:
*A shredder
*A machine that melts the plastic and turns it into plastic rolls
*A machine that turns plastic rolls into bin liners
I encourage you to go further with your plastic recycling project, but make a different product. Plastic bags are not feasible and you would not be contributing significantly to the environment.
