Inner tube rubber

Dear All,
This is Emma from Barcelona:)
I’m building a sustainable fashion brand(Redit Upcycling BCN), which will be based in inner tube(what’s inside of the car/bikes/motorbikes… wheels).
I’m focused on knitting. Now i cut the inner tubes and i knit them by hand, but i’d like to melt and make rubber yarn, so i will knit them by machine(domestic knitting machines)
Also i’d like to make plates to cut the patterns.
So I would like to know if it’s possible to shred this material and also if it’s safe to melt the inner tubes rubber.

I think maybe you should Google that. I know people groove their rally tyres with heated tools. Do you have photos of your knitted products? It sounds interesting but I can’t really visualize it. Thanks 🙂
